Hello I'm Chris...

WHY I LOVE WHAT I DO

“General Counsel” is a perfect description and I love it! Mostly I work in general business, corporate, partnership and contract law. This is all about regulating internal & external relationships and either initiating or embedding fair dealing. Most days I am helping our clients convert their opportunities and ideas into something that will build or protect profit; but some days I will be brandishing the sawn-off for them and on others I will be at their side manning the pumps. I like a bit of action and creativity in my life and I am delighted to be working with some very action-full and creative clients – I thank them very much!

THE EXPERIENCE I BRING

I’m focused on applying my business-polished legal skills to improving the future for family-owned and entrepreneurial SMEs. I am an all-rounder with a particular depth of experience in shareholder, partner & board advisory work, dispute resolution, business financing and SME risk management. I was formerly a litigation barrister before graduating with an MBA from London Business School and going into business. My business-legal career was in various commercial/contract directorship roles for businesses in brand-franchising, VC-backed joint-venturing, agency, property development and construction contracting.  I am regularly engaged in tech-platform development work in a range of industry verticals. I bring to every client I work with the insights and gritty experience gained at the front-end of business over the past 20+ years

WHEN I'M NOT WORKING

I’m a keen offshore/inshore racing sailor with a passion for British classic cars. In between those I see a bit of my wife. We enjoy cross-country running together and are about to embark on our 3rd self-build. I am a fan of contemporary architecture and can be a bit nerdy about politics and poetry. I support the Access to Justice Foundation, a much under-estimated problem in England
